My journey with Heart Rock Lovers began during my residency in Scotland. The residency was situated by the sea, and I found myself drawn to the coastline, collecting stones throughout my stay. I was particularly captivated by the unique shapes, especially those that resembled hearts, and I started to see these rocks as symbols of something deeper.

A rock is more than just a solid object—it can be a foundation, something that anchors and supports, but it can also have a more profound, symbolic meaning.

Rocks can be used as building blocks, tools for preservation, or even as sculptures that tell stories. In my exploration, I began to see these stones as objects that held both personal and universal significance. Each rock in the Heart Rock Lovers series was paired with unique ceramic feet, handmade to support the rock, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

The Heart Rock Lovers concept emerged as a representation of my connection to both the natural world and the idea of love—enduring, strong, yet full of subtle beauty. (2024)
